Had a wonderful experience while in town and next door for the New Next Film Festival. Love the concept. Had the tasty 3 course prix fixe with wine pairings of celery root, scallops, paw paw pudding. Great attentiveness and information from staff on all. I highly recommend!
It's the freshness for me! I was so impressed by the quality of the ingredients and how it transformed the food. The food we had was so mindfully crafted. The burrata was so good. I had never had it with corn before but it was cold and had a refreshing summer taste. The sourdough focaccia is a must order. We kept that coming back to the table. The liver mouse was very good! I wish it was paired with bread instead of a crispy cracker though. The pig parts were a mixed bag. Some were more familiar and others were more experimental. I'd recommend trying out a couple. I wasn't a big fan of the ears because I didn't really get a lot of flavor from them and the texture was a bit tough. But it was still cool to get that experience We got the last order of scallops. The scallops were so tasty! But it was a very small portion. We tried more things but I missed getting photos of everything. I had the cod for my main and it was tasty but a little too salty for my preference. The dessert was so amazing as well. They were light and fluffy and tasted like artisan desserts. The server was really kind but because of how busy they were, some of our requests were forgotten about. It's possible they may need more staff to help make the service experience more seamless. But they did a good job overall. I will absolutely be returning to try their set tasting menu! The vibe of the place is pretty moody. The downside is there's not much for restrooms. There's one stall for women and men each and they're shared with conjoining businesses.
Get the burrata and sea scallops while you can! We could not believe how good every dish was. I love that they use ingredients that are fresh and in season and they use their ingredients in some pretty inventive ways! Staff were very nice and made our experience even better. Can't wait to come back!
Very intimate, good service. Great ambiance. Food was soooooo good. A little pricey, and the portions weren't huge, but food was tasty.
Foraged was absolutely amazing! The food was incredible, the service was great and the ambiance was wonderful. Our favorite dish was a tie between the mushroom stew and beef sirloin. The sauce that came with beef sirloin was so bright and flavorful, and nothing like we have had before with sirloin. The meat was supposed to be cooked to medium rare, but was slightly more chewy than we would like, but otherwise it was wonderful. The mushroom stew with the poached egg and the homemade ricotta was a savory delight. We enjoyed the simple but high quality tomato salad with watermelon. The pig snout was amazing with a great balance of different textures. The crab cake was good, but compared to the other items we ordered, was our least favorite. Out of the three drinks we ordered, the peach sorbet bubbles was my favorite and the fresh sorbet was an interesting touch between sips of the champagne. We ended the meal with the peach cobbler and the cantaloupe panna cotta which were both extremely vibrant and fruity. The Panna cotta was a more subtle desert, which was complimented very well with the desert wine. Even the complimentary cookies they gave us with the cheque were delicious. Overall a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be going back!
Getting to come here during restaurant week was an absolute delight. Like I always say, if there is a tasting menu. You get that tasting menu. Bonus points if there's an optional wine pairing with the tasting menu to try an array of absolutely wonderful dishes, carefully curated to highlight locally sourced ingredients While having expert paired wine at the same time. 10 out of 10 I absolutely love the interior of this restaurant, if you come. Make sure you look around and see if you can find the little hidden surprises tucked around.
We've come to foraged twice now in the past couple months, first for restaurant week and now just to have dinner before a lyric show. Both times we've had the 3 course menu, which we've realized gives you the same as the 5 course meal if you're willing to share, plus you get to choose. Although pricey, the pig parts always feel worth it as a starter. This time, the jowl was so good it's a keeper, less fatty than belly with that crunchy skin. The mushroom stew consistently might be my most favorite dish. But everything's delicious. Their chocolate pot de creme is definitely a great end to the meal. Last time I didn't like the third wine pairing that went with dessert and told the waiter this time. The sommelier came over and let us choose- I got the Sauternes instead and that made me very happy!
So I tried foraged and I was pleasantly surprised. Not that I had low expectations, I just didn't know what to expect. I will say, I went in the winter time. I don't suggest sitting by the door at the bar, it's cold. With that being said, the bartenders were amazing. Not to mention, I thoroughly enjoyed the instrumental music in the background. As a music lover, there was some fire on that playlist. As for the food, it was good. The portions are small but very delicious. I would say that the duck was probably my favorite. Don't sleep on the rigatoni. I drink my alcohol straight but some of the drinks I saw come out looked so amazing. Overall, I would gladly go back. This place has the vibes, the food and the service. Check this place out.
